The San Francisco Business Times announced its Best Places to Work in the Bay Area for 2011. This year’s ranking brought nominations from 301 companies representing employees in 12 counties around the greater Bay Area. The eighth annual Best Places to Work awards recognized the top employers in five categories based on company size.

There is seasonality – cyclic variations based on the time of year or season – to any number of things. There’s been a flurry of comments on this morning’s Twitter stream regarding how much notice people should give when they quit a job. And as a side note, it’s an interesting shift in the job market when the conversation is about how to leave a job, rather than how to find a job.

Things are bubbling in the technology start-up world: not 1998 frothy, but clearly bubbling nonetheless.
And even while there is sobering reality – for example Tom Abate’s piece yesterday in the San Francisco Chronicle Why Silicon Valley Faces Fresh Threats – there are telltale signals that things may be changing.
